DeepMock started with a simple idea: help one person prepare for their medical interview. Today, we're building the future of interview preparation for aspiring medical professionals.
How It Started
In mid-2025, Khairi Johari noticed his brother Azri struggling to find quality practice resources for his radiology specialty interviews. Traditional mock interviews were expensive and hard to schedule, while solo practice lacked structure and feedback.
As a developer, Khairi saw an opportunity to help. He built the first version of DeepMock - a simple MVP that let Azri practice interview questions on his own time and get structured feedback. The tool worked. Azri landed his position for the program in September 2025.
But the story didn't end there. Through conversations with Azri and other medical students, Khairi realised the real need was earlier in the journey - premed students preparing for their initial medical school interviews. The gap in the market was clear: students needed a way to practice intensively on their own, complementing (not replacing) traditional mock interviews with peers and mentors.
In October 2025, DeepMock launched publicly during the middle of the postgraduate admissions season, targeting GAMSAT and other premed applicants. Despite being rough around the edges, students immediately saw the value - they started paying for access, validating that we were solving a real problem.

The Beginning
Khairi built the first version of DeepMock to help his brother Azri prepare for radiology specialty interviews. What started as a simple tool for one person would soon become something much bigger.
Proof of Concept
Azri successfully secured his position in the radiology program. Through the process, we realised this tool could help countless premed students facing the same challenges.
Public Launch
Released DeepMock to premed students, initially targeting GAMSAT applicants. Despite being rudimentary, students immediately saw value and started paying for the platform - validating the market need.
Team Growth
As demand grew, we expanded the team to include developers, project managers, advisors, and specialists to build a world-class interview preparation platform.
Building the Future
Focused on building brand awareness, refining our platform, and establishing DeepMock as the standard for solo interview practice. Expanding to medical specialties and laying the groundwork for future sectors.

The Next 2-3 Years
Our vision is to become the standard for solo interview practice. We're not trying to replace mock interviews with peers and mentors - we're building the tool you reach for when you need to grind out practice sessions on your own time. The platform that helps you build muscle memory, refine your answers, and track your improvement over hundreds of practice attempts.
Beyond Premed
While we're focused on premed students today, we're laying the groundwork for expansion into medical specialties, law school admissions, and graduate programs. But first, we're building an exceptionally strong foundation - ensuring our platform is world-class before we pursue partnerships with other medical education companies and expand into new markets.
